The North American LCS has signed a seven-year sponsorship deal with FTX, as per Jacob Wolf. This will be the first cryptocurrency exchange partner of any competitive LoL league and will no doubt take center stage in the years to come. If the acronym FTX sounds familiar, it’s probably because you’ve already heard it: they’re also sponsoring the perennial 메이저사이트 NA giants Team SoloMid.
Interestingly enough, though, TSM wasn’t permitted to sport any FTX branding. The reason why was quite simple: it would’ve been a direct violation of developer guidelines.
“The TSM and FTX sponsorship deal does not break any LCS sponsorship rules, but crypto exchanges fall under a category of sponsorship that carries activation restrictions. As a result, TSM’s new naming convention and FTX brand placement on TSM jerseys will not apply to the LCS or other Riot Games esports in North America,” said Chris Greeley, Riot’s Head of Esports for North America and Oceania and interim LCS commissioner.
So basically, FTX signed a ten-year, $210 million deal with TSM and yet their logo isn’t even visible whenever the boys in black and white take the stage to compete. Strange stuff, to say the least. Going forward, however, Riot will remove all FTX branding from its broadcast assets in countries where cryptocurrencies are either forbidden or “strictly regulated.” According to Wolf’s sources, FTX branding will show up in a myriad of broadcast elements, including “most improved player” and other gold-related graphs.
