FIFA 22 is here, and that means the grind for Division Rivals rewards in Ultimate Team has begun. Here’s everything you need to know about the overhauled rewards, their release times, and how to boost your FUT ranks.
Division Rivals is arguably the most popular mode in FIFA Ultimate Team. Unlike Squad Battles, which pits players against the AI, Division Rivals is all about testing your mettle against other players and their teams online.
Like other competitive games, it has a ranked system that assigns skill ratings to players which can then be increased or decreased depending on performance. There are multiple divisions that players can wind up in, and finishing the week in any one of them will determine what rewards you’ll receive.
Here’s everything we know about how Division Rivals have changed and what days rewards will be handed out in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team ranked play.
FIFA 22 Division Rivals changes explained
EA Sports claims they’ll be “overhauling” Division Rivals in FIFA 22 by introducing a new seasonal progression system, and the new “Elite Division,” where the best of the best can go head-to-head.
FIFA 22 will change how players advance through Divisions and earn rewards. Division Rivals will move to a new ladder system where each Division is made up of these three components:
Ranks
Different Ranks reflect your progress within a Division and unlock better and better Weekly Rewards as you move up.
Stages
Stages are the individual steps between Ranks. So Divisions made up of Ranks, which are in turn made up of different Stages.
Checkpoints
Finally, Checkpoints prevent losing progress and guarantee players remain at an appropriate skill level.
The result of each match determines how you move up or down on the Divisions ladder, as follows:
Winning a match moves you forward one Stage.
Losing a match moves you back one Stage, unless you’re on a Checkpoint.
Drawing keeps you at your current position.
Winning two consecutive matches in a row will begin a win streak. While this buff is active you’ll go up an extra Stage for every additional win.
How to qualify for FIFA 22 Elite Division in Division Rivals
A brand new tier of competition beyond Division 1, the Elite Division is where the best FUT players in the world can battle it out. Progression in the Elite Division changes back to a Skill Rating system, which you may remember from FUT 21.
All players in the Elite Division are ranked based on this Skill Rating, with the top 200 appearing on the Global Leaderboard for all to see.
Once you make it to the Elite Division (and we know you will), you’ll remain there through the rest of the current Season.

Once you’ve earned your spot in “Elite” you’ll retain it for the rest of the FIFA 22 season.
FIFA 22 Division Rivals season rewards explained
Season Milestones are a new way for players earn rewards in Division Rivals simply by playing Rivals matches. No matter if you win or lose, you’ll still get credit towards those sweet, sweet Seasonal Rewards. Players can earn a total of three Milestone Rewards per Division, based on the Division you finish the season in.
How long do Division Rivals seasons last in FIFA 22?
EA is making Division Rivals into a seasonal competition this year, which will be tied to the regular FUT Seasons, which are approximately 6 weeks long.
At the start of each season, player progression will reset to the next lower Division for everyone. Which Division you end up in all depends on which Division you managed to finish the previous Season in.
When do Division Rivals come out in FIFA 22?
Division Rivals in FIFA 22 will run in weekly sessions starting on Thursdays and running until the following Thursday. Naturally, that means the rewards release when these periods refresh, which happens at the following times:
1 AM PDT
2 AM CDT
3 AM EDT
8 AM BST (UK)
9 AM CEST (EU)
5 PM AEDT (AUS – next day)
